Permit Information

PERMIT PROGRAMS

Parking permits go on sale for residents and/or employees of the Central Business District.

HOW TO OBTAIN PERMITS

Online

Residents and employees have the option to purchase a permit online through the LAZ Parking site. Permits are virtual by the license plate. No hang tag or sticker is needed.

TYPE OF PERMITS

Permits are sold by the month at $20/month and permits can be purchased up to 12 months through June 30.

Permits are non-refundable, non-transferrable and not replaceable in event of loss, damage or theft - All permit holders assume risk of permit ownership.

PARKING LOCATIONS

Please note signage. Spaces that state "Pay by Plate or App" are pay only and permits are not allowed. Spaces that state "Permit Parking or Pay by Plate or App' are mixed use spots. 

Permits are not valid for Street Parking.

Permits are valid for all Central Business District parking locations with the following exceptions:

Goecke Upper Deck East: Permits are not valid in this section. All spots are pay only. Permit parking is allowed in the Upper Deck West and the abutting permit lot.

Goecke Deck Lower: Permits are allowed in all spots with the exception of the spots between the charging stations and the west entrance. These are pay only spots.

How St Lot: Permits are allowed throughout the lot with the exception of the spots in the 15 minute section, and the spots opposite to the 15 minute spots, which are pay only.

Elliot Place: No permits are allowed in this lot. The entire lot isPay Only and restricted to a 2 hour limit.

The Heights: the spots along the river are available for anyone but are restricted to a 2 hour Limit.

Washington Square Lot: Permits are allowed throughout the lot with the exception of the spaces a long the bus station side. These are pay only spots.

Phoenix Row Lot: Permits are allowed throughout the lot with the exception of the spaces abutting the buildings. These are pay only spots.

Washington Wingate Lot: Permits are allowed throughout the lot with the exception of the two middle rows and the inside row towards the essex street side. 

​Employee Permits are not Valid in the Washington Wingate Lot. Cars with employee permits will be ticketed.

Essex and Locust Lot: Permits are valid throughout the lot with the exception of spaces 1-10. These are pay only.


RESTRICTED TO RESIDENTS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT

 

Only residents and employees of the Central Business District may purchase a parking permit.

 

Residents shall mean that a person(s) resides within the Central Business District to include the streets listed below.  Employee means that a person is gainfully employed by an employer within the Central Business District to include the streets listed below.

  1. Emerson Street  (Washington Square to Walnut Street)

  2. Essex Street  (Washington Square to Moulton Way)

  3. Granite Street;

  4. Haverhill Place;

  5. How Street

  6. Locke Street

  7. Locust Street (Essex Street to Orchard Street)

  8. Merrimack Street;

  9. Moulton Way;

  10. Orchard Street;

  11. Park Way;

  12. Railroad Square;

  13. Washington Square;

  14. Washington Street ( Washington Square to Washington Avenue)

  15. West Street;

  16. Wingate Street

  17. Merrimack Place

  18. Walnut Street

Residents and employees must show proof of residency and proof of employment to obtain a parking permit
