Hartford, CT, December 16, 2022 - LAZ Parking announced today that it has been awarded a five-year contract by the City & County of San Francisco, CA to provide support services for parking meters under the oversight of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) and the Port of San Francisco. Under the agreement, which went into effect August 1, LAZ will provide parking meter coin and data collection and other associated support services to SFMTA. The contract, valued at up to $50.7 million, comes with an extension option of up to an additional five years.
SFMTA is a department of the City and County of San Francisco responsible for the management of all ground transportation, including the Municipal Railway (Muni) public transit, parking, bicycling, paratransit, traffic, walking, and taxis. The Port of San Francisco manages a 7.5 mile stretch of city waterfront that is home to some of the city’s best-known attractions including the Embarcadero Promenade, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Pier 39.
"LAZ is thrilled to have been selected by the City & County of San Francisco to provide parking meter support services at SMFTA locations throughout the city, as well as high profile locations managed by the Port of San Francisco,” said Alan Lazowski, Founder, Chairman and CEO of LAZ Parking. "This is an acknowledgment of the value and high level of service LAZ provides to municipal clients and the confidence municipal leaders have in our ability to maintain that level of service in the future.”
Specific services LAZ will provide under the contract include coin collection and delivery services, collection of data on the condition of the meters and, in partnership with Dixon Resources, a unique task of capturing, analyzing and reporting curb occupancy data to allow SFMTA to make data driven decisions. LAZ will also conduct surveys related to meter inventory, curb regulations, and overhead and meter signage as requested by SFMTA. Additionally, LAZ will oversee the procurement of parts for parking meters and, upon request, monitor revenue reconciliation, reporting and real time transaction variance in collaboration with Priority Ventures, a hardware, software, and program management solutions company based in Greater San Francisco.
