Our Los Angeles LAZ family is making a difference in a big way this holiday season. The team at the Citadel Shopping Center has been reaching out to their clients and parkers, asking for donations to contribute to KTLA’s Annual Take 5 to Care Food Drive. The drive collects non-perishable food items to help feed those in need during the holiday season at three locations over two days, with all donations going to a Los Angeles regional food bank.
The L.A. LAZ family has participated in the event for years, but when the team at the Citadel found out that one of the donation drop-off points would be right at their front door, they made a goal to collect as much food as possible. They went around to their clients and asked them to participate, even if just for a few cans. “We just reached out to all of our 350 clients and asked them to donate at least a couple cans of food. The goal was just to make sure we donated at least 1,000 cans, one for every car that we parked here at the Citadel today. So we’re just asking everyone to come out, enjoy their holiday shopping, donate to a good cause to all the needy families out here during the holiday season and enjoy their day here at the Citadel outlets,” said Kyle Retter, Safety & Training Manager, Los Angeles. “One of our company values is ‘commitment to people’. It’s not just about parking cars, it’s about donating food to needy families and giving back to the community. That is really important to us as a company."
As you can see in the video below, the team far surpassed their goal, collecting enough cans to fill an overflowing SUV, and then some! Through their efforts, the L.A. team really showed what the LAZ Values are all about: helping others. Way to Own the Mojo, L.A.!
