In August, LAZ will begin parking cars in Detroit, the Motor City. This expansion brings us to a new city and comes through a partnership with REDICO (Real Estate Development and Investment Company) and the expansion of our Michigan portfolio. Starting in August, LAZ will provide parking services at six REDICO properties that serve some of the most popular districts of downtown Detroit. Two of the garages are located in Detroit’s central business district and provide parking for numerous area events, as well as the buildings’ commercial and retail tenants. The new locations also support the Fisher Building, which includes the 2,000-seat Fisher Theater and provides parking for the nearby Henry Ford Health System. The project will be overseen by our Project Manager, David Walsh, who will lead our team of utility, attendant and event staff. The new deal encompasses nearly 3,000 parking spaces in Detroit and follows our partnership with Eastern Michigan University in April, which added nearly 10,000 spaces to kick off our Michigan portfolio. We could not be more thrilled to be parking cars in the city known for making them!
