Last week, an Ohio State University student injured 11 people when he attacked pedestrians on campus with a car and a knife. One of the people he injured, Anderson Payne, is a LAZ employee and student at OSU. Anderson truly exemplified The LAZ Way and on that tragic day specifically, as he showed bravery, strength, courage, and solidarity. He tried to stop the attacker and ended up catching the knife with his hand, which ultimately went through his hand and damaged his nerves and tendons. Anderson went through emergency surgery and is expected to regain use of his hand after extensive therapy.
Anderson, who has been with LAZ for 4 years and is currently an Assistant Manager, Customer Service, is highly regarded by his coworkers and fellow students. He says he won’t live in fear and won’t let that horrific day change who he is. He is a husband, father to three little kids, an Army Veteran, a student and a driven hard worker. He is an incredible employee and we are lucky to have him as a part of the LAZ family.
Anderson, we thank you for being such an extraordinary person and for embodying The LAZ Way and the Never Ever Give Up spirit! Learn more about the incident through Anderson’s interview with ABC News
