After managing nearly 100 locations for System Parking across the Chicago market, including office, residential, commercial, and municipal parking operations, Shevket identified significant synergies between the parking and hospitality sectors. He recognized that many hotels were using commercial garages for storage and developed a strategy to use the hotel valet operations as a way to manage the garages used for storage. This approach allowed him to expand his portfolio by establishing strong partnerships with hotels and commercial garages by improving operational efficiency.

In 2004, he founded Downtown Parking with a vision to create a client-focused parking management company. Within just 2.5 years, he successfully grew the company to nearly 30 locations, demonstrating his ability to rapidly scale and build a sustainable business. In 2008, he sold Downtown Parking to Standard Parking, where he continued to apply his expertise in parking management and hospitality services. Shevket worked at Standard Parking for 17 years, contributing to its growth and helping solidify its position as the largest hotel parking operator in the City of Chicago.
