Jim, also known as Coach Marzi, joined the LAZ Parking team in 1991 and is currently the Executive Vice President. In 2008, he became a minority operating partner.
Jim, as one of LAZ’s first employees, directs and oversees all garage construction that occurs in the state. In early 2020, he broke ground on the One Cast parking garage in New Haven, a state-of-the-art parking facility, with over 750 parking spaces. With his passion for parking, he has successfully established parking operations for the Xfinity Music Theater, Rentschler Field and a long-standing partnership with Hartford Healthcare. In 2005, Jim was instrumental in developing the LAZ Fly brand at Bradley International Airport, an off-airport parking operation.
Jim epitomizes the LAZ Spirit. He has been instrumental in developing the LAZ Parking culture and preparing individuals to grow within the company – most notably with his work in our LAZ University program. Over the past decade, he has partnered with local prison systems to develop a reentry program which has been influential in the Connecticut Operations growth and an initiative that has rolled out nationally.
Another one of Jim’s passions is his creation and dedication to the LAZ charitable foundation. With the help of Jim, the foundation raised more than $250,000 in its first two years, with 100% of the first year's proceeds benefiting Special Olympics. In Connecticut, Jim hosts a yearly fundraiser benefitting 3 local charities, Special Olympics – CT, Jordan Porco Foundation and Hartford Police Athletic League, which has resulted in contributions upwards of one million dollars.
Jim graduated from Quinnipiac University with a BS degree in management and an AS degree in marketing.
