Chris Ottesen

Vice President, Insurance & Claims

Chris is a seasoned risk management professional with over 25 years of experience in optimizing profit margins, implementing strategic initiatives, and leading risk management functions across diverse industries. Chris has a proven track record of driving significant EBITDA growth, cost reductions, and process improvements through innovative risk management solutions and leadership. He is an expert in integrating acquisitions, managing large insurance programs, and enhancing workforce flexibility.

Before joining LAZ, Chris was a Vice President of Risk Management at PrestigePEO, a private equity-owned leading Professional Employer Organization (PEO) with over 30,000 worksite employees (WSE’s) dedicated to providing comprehensive HR solutions to businesses of all sizes. While there he was responsible for optimizing profit margins on workers' compensation/EPLI programs, process improvement, and value creation strategic initiatives. He standardized underwriting models and optimized pricing for higher-margin industries, maximized risk transfer and collateral options, and improved claims management processes. Chris also played a key role in mergers and acquisitions, ensuring the quality of earnings and integrating acquisitions to maximize synergies and process efficiencies.
